Got the car running again and Hasan remoted in to fix some of my woes. Hopefully this thing is dyno ready in January for some cold temps and good dyno numbers.

Had a dead battery. Got 10 years out of it with the last 3 seeing barely any use. Not bad I would say. So new battery and oil change.

        Black Friday Arc8s in 9.5et35 & 10"et25 with Yoko A052s meats.

Lite ceramic coating on the rears, I'll do the stronger gyeon evo coating on the fronts.

Tbonem3 Is surface prep required for brand new wheels? And what is the difference between gyeon evo vs rim coating? I recently did gyeon rim on my new ZCPs and didn’t use any sort of surface prep. Just wanted to get your thoughts

Idk tbh. You want the surface clean for best bond, so I do it. Who knows what oils/dirt are on even new wheels, but that 16oz spray cost $11 (amzn), and I used like 1oz so whatever. I need it for the paint coating anyway.

I don't know the chemical differences between a brand's common silica coating and a wheel specific coating. I don't see how it could be better - wouldn't you then want to use it on your paint? And it's not cheaper. So if it's not cheaper, and it's not better, why bother? I think it's more an exercise in marketing/business than anything.

Started cleaning up the MSport Alcantara/Laser rear seats and extracted what seemed like an entire cup of coffee from one of the side bolsters 🙈

That’s awesome, how much of that stuff is new vs cleaned/refurbished?

                  All fair points.

Did new Control Arms, FCAB, and tie rods today.

Getting those ball joints out is no joke. Lost cause trying to torque a few of those nuts to spec.

Tomorrow doing new struts/springs and reinforcement plates. Suspension refresh will be complete for 2024 and ready to sit in the garage until snow is gone.

Everything CSL was NOS, Everything that was a bushing or bearing was New BMW, we reused everything "mechanical," i.e. trailing arms, hubs, cv shafts, dust shields, etc

Awesome. Would you mind sharing what method and/or products you used to clean the hubs, CV shafts and boots, trailing arms etc…?

I didn't get to carried away as this is a driver... just a pressure washer, simple green, wheel cleaner and some various sized brushes.

I tried the Rockford Fosgate 6x9's as replacements for the stock subs and didn't like them. It sounded like the bass output dropped significantly, almost as if I didn't have any bass. I put the stock ones back in and it's much better again.

Prior to removing the speakers, I unmounted the sub unit (plastic bin with the speakers still mounted) to double checked their function. Yes, the cones were moving, but I think the stock amp just doesn't have enough power to push these speakers. Excursion seemed minimal. Perhaps my amp is faulty, or the speakers themselves were faulty. I know there's a thread on these speakers and some had positive experiences that sounded like increased bass output, and I was excited to try as well. But unfortunately that wasn't mine experience.
