Any news on when 1.1.17 will be released?
I've read on M5Board that it will bring caller ID functionality. Is that limited to navigation-equipped cars or will the CD53 also have this?
Btw, by now even my girlfriend –who was a little skeptical of me spending over $200 on a 'tiny box' from the USA– has said that the product is great. Needless to say I agree with her 😁
Thanks!

It hasn't been written into CD53 UI yet, but I might before I release it. I wanted to fix some of the bugs reported on GitHub before finalizing 1.1.17, but in many cases, I'm waiting feedback from users. I've been working on some supply chain issues on the hardware side -- some of the parts on the bill of materials are unavailable for many months, so I've had to find suitable alternatives and in a couple of cases I have had to alter the design to accommodate the replacement part(s).
To answer the question on _when_ I'll release 1.1.17 in its final iteration: before Christmas.
Glad you AND the girlfriend are enjoying the BlueBus! I have been using a unit in my iT which has the CD53 (for now, a Nav retrofit is planned) and it has changed my mind in that I don't find the BlueBus to be a waste of time just because of the limitations of the single line UI.
I do find the metadata scrolling a little annoying sometimes. Driving with the CD53 in the car is a different experience than watching the screen dance on my office desk :P
Some changes I'll be making to the CD53 based on my "testing" are:
* Add ability to clear MPG average. Am I missing something or is this not able to be reset through the IKE?
* Add static metadata mode
* Add "OBC" view (don't ask me what this will show yet. I have to think about it).
Another bit of info -- ECS Tuning will be stocking 100 BlueBus units in February, so I won't be running any buys until they are nearly out of stock. This will give me time to focus on the software, too.

Next, what will I need to add a mic for the telephone? Meanwhile, I can't say enough good things about using the BlueBus in this old car!
Thanks for the advice!

I don't see any wires above the mirror where it looks like the mic, if I had one, would be placed. Help with getting the correct mic and any surgery I'll need to perform to make it work with BB?
Thanks.

You have a little grill to the left of the reading lights, right?
Thanks!

I cannot access the menu navigation, to adjust it I always do it on a BM54 first, adjust it and then put it in my car with CD54.
After disconnecting the battery, all settings are always gone.
I always activate the automatic locking. This is automatically activated after the battery has been disconnected. So I have to remove it, adjust it to the BM54, and install it again on the CD54.

Can you send me a video of trying to access the Settings on the CD54?
These are not really available, so getting one for the bench would be a feat, unfortunately.

it can take a while, the convertible is in hibernation.
I sold the last Bluebus you sent me here. Do you have one for me quickly?
What do you define as "quickly"? I have a prototype coming back from Australia, so that should be here... at some point

Who would've known that a you owning a Touring would be so beneficial to the Bluebus development...
Honestly, the single line UI isn't that bad. Once you've used it a few times and memorised what each button does, it's pretty easy and intuitive. Most of the time I just leave it alone and let it play the music on my phone randomly. The MFL gives me all the control I need.

* Already given you my thoughts on metadata. The issue with leaving it on static is that some song titles are longer than 16 characters so it'd look weird on the screen.
* I guess coolant temperature? No idea, I am pretty satisfied with the OBC on the E46 as it is.
Thanks!
