Any decent body shop can do this. Its more time consuming than technically difficult. There is a lot of anxiety on spending this much money to rip off a perfectly good roof but looking at the roof everyday I have no regrets.

Definitely more than an inch, I would guess at least two.

Its a Challenge roof 2x2. VERY nice weave and absolutely no flaws. Was pretty straight forward to install. I had the car repainted so it also has fresh clear coat and polish.

for all of you who didnt buy the CSL roof rails, how did you guys attach the factory one from your car to the roof?

the metal roof has tabs that it attaches too and the CF roof now doesnt. Trying to figure how I can attach these things so they dont fly off.

I have this exact same predicament, some have recommended me to use double sided tape, but I tried and can't get enough contact.

Thats the issue.. Then, we could epoxy a small spot to hold it down but when I end up getting csl rails, how much of a pain will it be to pull up lol

Yep, epoxy is the most logical solution. Unless we could design a 3d printed spacer or something that the rails could adhere to that are then taped to the roof rail. Do the OEM CSL rails use double sided tape?

yes, if you look at the pictures on ECS, they show you where the double sided tape makes contact.

Interesting, I wonder if someone can mock up those spacers and that might work the same.

Somebody posted some pictures of a slicktop conversion done on an Imola on M3F just before the site when down and it looks fan-fn-tastic.

^ I recognize that garage and car, bought my ZCP wheels from him. Nice dude, nice car and cool conversion. Personally I’d just go CF at that point, it’s mostly labor cost anyway. Unless these stupid roof rails become impossible to source or obscenely expensive

At $250 each I think they're already there.
