Just watched the end of that auction and it sold for 100k on the dot. I clicked on it when it was at $70k and it shot up to $100k in only a few minutes lol

I think you either love the M Coupe or you hate it...sounds like you hate it. I personally love it, nothing else out there that looks like it. And who doesn’t love those huge fender flares at the back?!

I have not driven one no. but are they that much better than a E46M, even with the same engine? the fenders are delicious but the front end is so fugly and interior is outdated. I wouldn't say I hate it, but i dont love it either.

Haven't driven one either, but a mate of mine owns a couple of them (one s52, one s54), and also owns a couple e46 m3s. The review he gave me was the only thing it would have over an m3 is the look, everything else is on par or slightly worse, such as the things you mentioned. Interior, driving dynamics, balance, power, etc.

They are different animal from a different era - Z3M was conceived in the time when E36M was built, so in a way, its that "era" car from the comfort and interior design standpoint. But - once you shoehorn an S54 in a car that is lighter than E46, have shorter and wider track, lower center of gravity, and body rigidity of a block of steel, you get one hell of a ride. Its the only car that I've driven with white knuckles while grabing the steering wheel - its brutal, visceral, and will eat you alive if you are not careful - one hairy ride. But way more fun than any M3 I've had, or driven (that includes, well, all of them except the new one). I'm biased of course - the black car on the pictures above is my car for the past 12 years.

Btw, I know the beauty is the eye of the beholder, but I find the front end extremely cool:



And interior does not look all that dated when its not two-tone:



I think it has a lot of classic British sports-car to it.

i am intrigued by the engine and chassis ratio. But the car is objectively ugly imo and to me that is a huge selling point of the e46. But still... intrigued

Why you have to be wary on BAT (my user name on BAT is lockemup):

1. The auction description states the seller performed a RACP reinforcement.
2. I asked questions about the RACP reinforcement six days ago. Seller ignores
3. I ask again the next day, seller ignores.
4. I ask again yesterday and today the seller says the information in the listing is wrong and that he didn't have the RACP done but some previous owner did and he has zero information.
5. Seller claims to be a BMW mechanic.
6. There doesn't seem to be a way for a potential bidder to contact BAT.

20mins remaining and its only @ 15K, seems like everyone is smelling issues, I would put this car above 20K already, selling somewhere around 25 - 28K

The seller is playing games. I asked him way back on December 7th for RACP reinforcement information and he ignored me. Then says oh it wasn't me who had that done even though he told BAT he did since it is in the listing.
