As you guys have identified, Supersprint will essentially do any (reasonable) pipe diameter with any jig they've created and it usually just requires a special request. Over time (and based on demand), they have been adding new part numbers to the catalog to cover these "special requests". As they already had the 63.5mm segment for the E46, it only made sense to add the 63.5mm rear SKU. They just added the new SKU last week so you're not crazy.

Will be very interested in a race muffler with 63.5mm piping, this will make the muffler quieter even by a bit. The weight is more key for me vs the SCZA, as well as the flow which might be marginally better on the SS. DM'ed.

PM replied. Honestly I'm not sure the 60 to 63.5mm change will really be discernable in tone or volume, but maybe it will a tiny bit deeper? The weight will also go up ever-so-slightly. SS quotes the original race at 28 lbs, so figure such a small change in diameter shouldn't add more than a couple pounds and will still be a bit lighter than the SCZA.

If you dont care, Dinan has the best flow, 2.5in dual. After that I think it’s the SCZA or Scorza, then maybe SS Race. Id love an SS race with 2.5in piping just dont think theyd make one anymore.
What was your buddies set up like, headers, Sec 1, 2, cams, intake…..anything else.

Oem euro headers, CPI rasp sec 1, oem sec 2, DIXIS. With and AFE intake car made around 315whp on a dynojet, Hassan mentioned the sec3/muffler was slightly holding back. It matters if you are after every little bit.

              Epic Alpha-N dyno tune
              Megan headers
              3.5" BW race
              Crappy Injen Intake
              JB Racing Flywheel

              337whp/267yq

That is about 12 more hp! Randy fixed the dip between 4.5k to 5.5k and it feels a lot better from 3.5k to 5.5k.

The dip between 2.5k to 4k...because of the BW race?

Nice power for the spec! The dip low down is due to the merge after the headers on the BW race. You won't be able to tune that out without moving the merge point in the exhaust to further back in the system (i.e. running dual pipes, then merging into single).

                  Thanks for the insight!

I had your canned tune for awhile and worked flawlessly for years! Very happy with it! Dyno’d at 325whp with it.

I switched because I needed a detune for a NASA class.

Very impressive - how do you like your crappy Injen intake? is it modified in anyway?

It's crappy. Randy pointed out that being aluminum it absorbs a lot of heat which could help explain why the car sucks in hotter temps. He also noticed my IATs were high on the dyno. Randy recommended plasti-dip'ing it. Doing that now, we'll see if it helps.

Thinking of what the alternative will be,

Funny enough I am going through same thing based on feedback from Epic. I am trying to stuff the largest cone filter inside the factory airbox (goal being more flow without the heat). I’d be happy just getting to 310whp…

And I agree with above, I’d use heat reflective tape around the intake pipe and heat shield to see if that helps work lower IATs.

I just plastidipped it and IATs are down 15-20 degrees.
