Thanks! Definitely passes the 10-foot test but unfortunately the VHT red is not even close to Brembo red .. looks like chicken pox in a few spots 😅 Good to hear your VHT clear helped with the hazing. I put my decals right on the red, guess I probably should have sandwiched them in clear like yours. Oh well

For anyone wanting to match brembo red, I've gotten pretty close with VHT engine enamel where there are a few reds to choose from like Ford red. VHT caliper red is darker than Brembo's as Repoman found.

I used Testors Gloss Red and it matched perfectly. I've read it does darken with the heat from braking. I cured mine at 250 and they didn't darker hardly at all, time will tell.

I have a little bottle of that stuff but was wondering how well it’d hold up. Should have used it! Unlikely that it’d end up darker than the VHT stuff I used. I touched it up mostly for protection of the metal, sure it will end up chipped again anyway.

I cleared mine with VHT earlier and it’s looking good, hazing is gone. The texture and look is slightly different vs where I taped it off but I’ll live with it

Yes I agree, great work Tyler!

Thoughts on using Anitseeze when installing the new dampers in the pistons to prevent sticking in the future?

I know this has been beaten to death but I can’t remember at this point .. anyone know if 15mm spacers will create enough clearance for ZCP front wheels?

No, only csl. You'll need 18s iirc.

Those are some big ass spacers. Based purely on offsets and wheel sizing, CSLs could use a 10ish mm spacer then (can’t know for sure due to spoke differences unless someone who’s tried can confirm). Might be time to upgrade ..

this may be a stupid question, but u need a minimum of 10mm spacers to clear the 996 fit ?

If youre rockin' stock wheels (with high offsets), which csls and zcps are, you're likely to want at least a 12-15mm F spacer anyway. My csl rep's native et is 32 (vs. 44/47), and I still run a 10mm spacer.

The issue of front clearance keeps coming up, and for whatever reason people seem to need WAY bigger (like 18mm) spacers to achieve clearance.

See my (filthy) current front setup: OEM ZCP wheels + 996 calipers, RR bracket, 12mm spacer
There is a good finger's worth of clearance - probably like 15mm.

Again, these are my experiences - don't know if there are any physical differences between cars (shouldn't be), but felt the need to post this as I could probably get away with a 5mm spacer and have enough clearance to run these calipers and wheels.

996 Brembo hub face to caliper outer face measurements:

                              Front: 35.5mm
                              Rear: 17.9mm

Yes. csl wheels or zcp though? Fronts are different. Rears are no issue either way (no spacers needed).
