Just tried the tool (only to have a look, only reading) and it looks reaallyyyy cool! It's so cool that people and especially you are still developing on this platformm, and then also sharing it for free!
One question regarding adaptions for knock, does negative (e.g. -0.7 deg) mean the engine has to pull 0.7deg on this cylinder?

IIRC, DIS doesn't let you run the test unless the engine is past some temp threshold. Maybe worth adding a similar check to your test?

Otherwise someone will inevitable run it on a cold engine and misinterpret the results.

hahaha correct - I actually built in the check to begin with, and intentionally disabled it so that I could run it for testing purposes, it's back in force now :-)

Correct - a negative number means that the engine is pulling timing on that cylinder. Note that the adaptions are a good thing as the DME is finding the optimal conditions for each cylinder based on real world experience. If your adaptions are too great then the engine will throw a code. -0.7 is just fine - nothing to worry about, just the DME doing what it should.

Version 1.2 is now available and supports the following diagnostic functions:
            • CSL Snorkel Flap test
            • DMTL Leakage test
            • E-Box Fan test
            • Electric Fan PWM test
            • Electronic Throttle Control
            • Fuel Pump Actuation
            • Idle Speed Control
            • Rough Running / Misfire Detection
            • Suction Jet Pump test
            • VANOS test

Disclaimer: I do not have a CSL snorkel, and I have a Euro car so don't have the DMTL system. The tests are executed in the same way DIS/INPA does, but I'd greatly appreciate someone testing and confirming that these function as they expect.

The other functions are tested and confirmed to work.

Second Disclaimer: I'm not actually super familiar with these tests, so if anyone has any ideas about how to better present the data, etc. I'm all ears! (One thing I do think could be a good idea is to have an "amber" region on the VANOS test colour bars that are the tighter, community agreed, metrics that are ideal. the standard ranges ISTA/INPA/DIS assess against for what's "ok" is quite wide)

Thank you for the tests. Unfortunately i do not have the wiring in for the CSL Flap test.

I am running one of Anri's 70°C thermostats. So even after some spirited driving, the motor temperature once i had parked on the driveway was an annoying 79°C, just below the VANOS test's 80°C threshold. So i turned the A/C on and performed an engine fan test at 10% for a little while to raise the engine temperature.

Would it be possible to display TMOT in the Engine Fan Test?

I did think about requesting a temp override for the VANOS test but that would skew the community's VANOS test results.

The VANOS test amber zone sounds like a great idea.

Are the test results recorded in any of the logs?

I think you have the CSL Flap working on your car. Are you able to do the CSL Flap test?

I might have missed this but does this program work on a Mac? Cars in the shop now so I can test it when it's back in a day or two.

I'm not sure if this covers your Mac:

System Requirements: - The app runs on Windows 10/11 (x86, x64 and ARM64 (works great on a VM on Apple Silicon)) with the .Net 8.0 Desktop Runtime
                      - The app supports OBD2 (FTDI D2xx driver) cables, and also supports COM.

Unfortunately I don't have vm and no windows laptop right now. I'm sorry I could not be of immediate help.

I am planning to get a windows laptop soon though.

No worries mate. I just remembered you had the flap wired in. All good 👍

Thanks mate. I am really excited for this thanks to Karter. So many headaches are going to be gone for me once I can find the right windows laptop to use this with.

VMware for Mac is free - https://www.vmware.com/products/desk...ion-and-fusion

M3dragon has a working CSL flap and might be able to test it.

karter16 there was a thread on M3F where a few people posted their VANOS test results. On healthy units, a fast response was around 190-225ms. Between 250-300ms was considered average to slower and over 300ms was considered slow. IIRC, almost all VANOS tests in that thread were below 300ms.

Since I'm not an expert are you saying I install that on my MacBook Pro and then this application should work?
