I don't know if you can trigger DTCs via DS2, but that might be a hacky way to go about it, if there isn't some official way to do so in the program. For instance, unplugging the crank sensor will stop the injectors from firing, so there might be a way to take the same branch if the appropriate DTCs are set?Originally posted by karter16 View Posterm good question - I don't know but will look into this, you're right, it would be very useful.2002 Topasblau M3 - Coupe - 6MT - Karbonius CSL Airbox - SSV1 - HJS - Mullet Tune - MK60 Swap - E86 Front Triangulation - ZCP Rack - Nogaros - AutoSolutions - 996 Brembos - Slon - CMP - VinceBar - Koni - Eibach - BlueBus - Journal

Sorry, by dashboard i just meant a table of the values like in the DIS screenshots. I guess some or all may be available form 'Live Values' already.Originally posted by karter16 View Post
Possible yes, but I'm not sure if it really fits with the intent of the app which is more about the programming/diagnostics side of things. There's already a fair few options out there for DS2-based gauges etc. so I hadn't envisaged the app going in this direction.
In terms of gauge type options I think the way to go is something like the Gauge.S that does CAN logging, so you can get 100hz data. Paired with the upcoming v2 of Community Patch you'll have the ability to log and display literally any variable in the DME that you like. The actual code for v2 is finished, I'm just still madly working on all of the documentation to go with it to make it useful for people.

You might be able to do this just by keeping your foot on the throttle pedal when cranking the engine over, since the car will not start with the throttle pedal fully down.Originally posted by heinzboehmer View PostRandom thought I had the other day, which is tangentially related to this effort. Does the DME expose functionality (via DS2 or otherwise) for disabling the fuel injectors at crank time?
Think it would be super useful for priming the oil system.

Ah sorry I misunderstood. Yep I get what you're saying, basically go to live values, select which values you want to monitor and then just display those in one view to see them. Yep can definitely do that!Originally posted by ac427 View Post

Strange. A Mastertech told me that and used it to perform a compression test on my engine. In fact, i helped him. I cannot remember if it was me in the car or him. Probably me while he read the gauge.Originally posted by heinzboehmer View Post

You must have the throttle pedal down before you spin the car over is all i can tell you. Perhaps i was running standard firmware rather the CSL at that point.

With the S85 in ISTA you can disable the fuel injectors, that would definitely be cool on the S54 as well, but pulling a single fuse in the glovebox is easy, easier then a laptop imo.
As far I am concerned this tool does enough, especially for the price, but if karter wants to keep going I certainly won't argue!2004 Silbergrau Metallic 6MT
