I would NOT buy streamline without... many, MANY positive reviews from people that have owned it for years. They've spewed out a ton of garbage and I have yet to see any long term positive experiences.
What's are your thoughts on the race variant?
it looks like the evolve box.

And the evolve box is a copy of the oem box I’m running.

IMO the best thing about the flap is that it looks stock. If I had one, I’d code it to be open 100% of the time, as every dyno I’ve seen has it closed only hurting power.

If you don’t mind the not stock look, and are going to run it open, the evolve/karbonius race makes sense imo... which is why I’m running it (albeit the oem version).

            I'd say Karbonius as well.

Too bad, really, I had high hopes for the streamline box!

Interested in hearing thoughts on this as well. Between Karbonius and Evolve are there any big differences or just splitting hairs? Considering one doesn't intend to run the flap?

My airbox looks great just the timing it took them. Plus still no snorkel. I would only buy again if it was in-stock.

Does the car need a tune after airbox install?

Yes. Either custom alpha-n dyno tune or CSL DME with stock CSL tune (you can also get a dyno tune on top of that if you want max power).

The race variant would render the front air duct behind the kidney grills useless. Would a scoop like evolves be sufficient to funnel air to the airbox? Also any cheaper scoops out there. The scoop seems pricey for a little piece of carbon fiber.

You have an oem snorkel style box?
