Porsche 996 Brembo BBK Conversion Install

    I was doing some test fitting before final assembly. For some reason, my rear rotor is extremely close to the calipers. This is on both sides, using Rallyroad brackets and OEM ZCP rotors, 328mm. See images. Anyone else have this issue? There's probably less than 1 mm of clearance but I'm just thinking thermal expansion of the rotor on track day may cause issues.

    I've test fitted the pads and they sit correctly and fully contact the rotor. Should I be concerned?

      That's how it is. It can get a little tighter depending on thickness of paint/powder coat. You could grind it down a bit if you want, wouldn't be very visible.

        The clearance on my rears were the same as yours, I just added two SS washers between the bracket and calipers.

          I tinker with the pad sensor and came up with this. it looks pretty stealth and factory fit if you ask me

            That install is super clean but do we have to have a pad sensor? I have never waited long enough to have a pad sensor sense for me. Cant we just cut and remove it or am I missing something?

              You can just short it if you don't want the sensor or idiot light.

              Personally, I love having pad wear sensors and am doing the same as above.

                So this set up works by creating a circuit and ware occurs it warns us when the circuit is broken? so just connecting the wires will keep the light off? Thanks

                    I’m hoping someone has a fix for this issue. I just installed my 996 brembo brakes and my fronts squeal like a stuck pig. I just removed, lubed and reinstalled everything and it still squeals. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

                          I removed my dampers, felt they were making noise and not letting the pads move naturally. You'll get a loud knocking sound without the dampers, but all else seemed to behave better to me without, and they're heavy. They squeal a little when they're hot hot, at low speeds coming to a stop.

                            that is exactly what mine do, squeal when hot and slow speeds. mine sound like a stuck pig, super loud.

                                I run Akebono EuroCeramics for my street driven car. Initial bite is inferior to the Porsche pads but they are quiet and produce a lot less dust.
