Interesting that it doesn’t have the cutout holes to secure the center console to the euro/csl center console bracket. Do they just have you press fit it over the transmission tunnel/carpet to keep it in place?Originally posted by davidinnyc View Post
Let me know if there’s anything you need help with when the time comes to get it all installed.

I thought it was interesting as well, but I went ahead and installed anyways. It is very tight and fits incredibly snug against the carpeted driveshaft area, so much so I had to press down from the rear towards the front to get it to fit.Originally posted by Avedis View Post

I left the euro/CSL center console bracket installed in the event I find a genuine CSL center console for less than $3K USD (looking at you, bmwfnatic).
It looks just fine! I’m waiting on a 1x1 CF center shift trim piece so it looks “fluid” at least through the shift knob area.

Recreated the stock firewall plug in CAD from a scan:
It's essentially a 1:1 copy of the stock piece.
Have to split it up into three sections to fit in a regular desktop 3D printer, but it does all fit in one build plate. Weight comes out to around 300-400 g, depending on the choice of material and infill. Stock is 1618 g, for reference.
This is the slicing result in PET-CF, with 10% cubic infill (complete guess as to what infill settings would perform well for thermal insulation) and some slicer-generated connecting dowels:
Anyone up to print this and test it out? Am just looking for feedback on the fit and the thermal insulation properties. the P0128 code didn't go away so I decided to change out the thermostat, since I had one on hand.
I pulled off the thermostat housing and found thermostat parts lol.
It looks like the bent tab snapped off (hopefully it is inside the radiator) and the rest of the thermostat disassembled itself. The stamp on it says "01 15" so I'm guessing it's made in 2015.
While I was in there, I installed a few of the high temp o-rings from WOLFN8TR's kit.
Put it all together, put some new coolant back in, fired it up, checked for leaks, reset the code, and now it's ready for the drive cycle to get the readiness monitors ready.Last edited by zzyzx85; 07-25-2025, 04:12 PM."your BMW has how many miles!?"

Any reason why you went with this one over the others? Might be going down that slippery slope as well shortly. Just need to get my exterior CSL bits installed first.Originally posted by davidinnyc View PostI've started down the slippery slope of a CSL interior… bought this Vorsteiner 1x1 console without the switch cutout but have the stencil in case I decide to go down that path.

Sanvi's, Grant is doing the install and Kaiv (Kevin from San Diego) is doing the QA. Very happy with the output, cameras can't capture the enormous change from XenonsOriginally posted by dukeofchen View Post
Love me a good projector upgrade, what did you go with?
