      You hear more diff whine from al bushings? Other than that, the rear end should feel super tight. After my CMP was done, it kinda felt like someone added a big swaybar in the back.

      All jobs done as diy - clutch, rod bearings, rear subframe rebush, vanos, headers, cooling, suspension, etc.

      PM for help in NorCal. Have a lot of specialty tools - vanos, pilot bearing puller, bushing press kit, valve adjustment, fcab, wheel bearing, engine support bar, etc.

        Nice, need to do all this next. I’m sitting on a vincebar Kit and no one local to install it without charging nearly $5,000. Also curious how is the diff whine?

            That’s a shame. I know of a few specialty BMW shops near me (Columbus, OH) that charge $1500 for rear subframe. I haven’t actually looked into it personally, but I have a feeling that for that price it’s only dropping the rear subframe, welding up cracks and putting in plates. No top side repair.

              Replaced front GC DA shocks with new ones from GC and installed Blue bus and removed prehistoric INTRAVEE II

                  Yes, more diff whine. I kind of liked it on the short drive yesterday but could see it being annoying on a long drive. Have to get the back seats and carpet installed which cut down on the volume a little. The rear end felt really good. Much tighter than before.
                  Need to say thanks to Cayn from CMP who answered multiple emails regarding clarification on the instructions and to the diy thread in the previous forum with the write up and pics.

                          A little yes. Lots of odd angles and positions plus welding underneath and stopping a lot to avoid metal fatigue from the heat. I’m sure a professional welder would have been quicker but we we’re not in a rush. Did a little welding each night over a week. Happy with the results.

                            Update on the aluminum diff bushings, installed rear seats and trunk liner today. As expected diff whine much reduced, you can hear it but it’s not real noticeable, you have to listen for it.

                              Waiting to pick up my car after getting the subframe reinforced and alum bushings...have to do topside reinforcement next. Are you planning on adding the brace as well?

                                Knocked out a shifter rebuild. New bushings in many places, plus I cleaned it up (since it’s obviously seen often by other people). The **** clip wasn’t bad coming off, really didn’t want to go back in though. Gearshift rod joint (25117580281) was probably the most shot of them all. The foam on the inside was basically gone.

                                Guibo and CSB tomorrow. Then everything back together hopefully, time dependent. Have Zoom trivia at 8pm and need to be clean and ready for that.
