Yep, very happy that they're producing these parts for our cars, but this looks to be a pretty 'involved' design...and I'm sure that it will be priced accordingly. I think that it would've been a bit on the pricey side even in the best of times, but this economy (especially) sucks right now for this kinda stuff! Still following though...

The Karb strut bar seems like a big waste as well. I do not see any benefit to carbon fiber in this application. It is just burning money-unless this is cheaper than Rogue/Mason, which I doubt.
ANY of the struts, which fix only 2 turrets - waste of money. they will make absalutely the same result as oem strut brace, even if you made it from carbon fiber, or gold or even platinum.
chassis with OEM strut brace vs no brace at all showing 1.5% difference in chassis torsional rigidity.

fundamental difference that our reinforcement has third fixing point on the bulkhead. this is the game changer and moves our solution to an absolutely different level.

i'll write this again, 1.5% on any usual strut brace VS 18% on our triangle design. lets continue from here

I took out the HVAC filter housing one time (I already removed the hood insulation too) , and I couldn't tell whatsoever that there was any more noise or difference.

I drove around for a few days with the housing removed and no hood insulation. There is definitely a difference with the stock intake. Probably not as noticeable with a CSL intake.

Regarding triangulation, isn't the strut towers already tied to the firewall through the drug bins? The Z4 Ms doesn't have the bins so they get a triangular brace. Anyways, this strut bar looks way more robust. I always resisted forking out big money for a strut bar because none of them attach to the firewall.

Great, now I'm going to have to return my glossy CSL airbox to get a matte box so everything matches...

glossy is not my preferred coating, but I’m willing to low ball you to help you get what you need in life :-)

This is exactly the type of moral support I would expect from such a fine group of people! Let me have a think on that...

Hopefully glossy is an option, if not can always get it cleared I guess?

Anyway I am interested pending price. Seems pretty slick.

Sounds nice. Doubt most people will go all the way and actually install this. Can you even go back to stock?

From messing around with the leftover epoxy from my vincebar install, I've found that a heat gun makes it pretty brittle. So some heat and prying are probably all you need to get the piece that attaches to the firewall off.

It's possible that it doesn't extend out into the engine bay anyway, so maybe the stock pieces fit back in with it still attached.

This was my thought too. However, resale of the bar would be a bit of a challenge unless Slon offers just the mounting block separately.

Regardless, I'm still intrigued by this.

By the way, in the repair/replacement instructions for the BMW carbon roof, they tell
you to heat/bake the roof until the glue weakens to remove the old roof. So it's entirely possible that the method you suggested would remove that block. Whether or not the resins in the carbon block would be any good after that (reusable) I have not a clue...
