What did you do for your M3 today?

Spent some time in the garage today, losing my mind thinking I had lost something that as it turns out, wasn’t supposed to be there to begin with. Pro tip: these things do not have a cap. Non M cars do.
After that exercise in frustration, I figured best to just do something easy. So I installed this rear diffuser I bought from JL Motoring like 2 years ago.
Quick review: The fitment is meh with pretty big gaps. This should surprise no one though, at the price point. If I had spent say, another hour and a half with a Dremel and some self tapping screws and 3M tape, I think I could improve the fitment a little, but bottom line is the shape is just off. Not like the pictures on their website tbh, but about what I expected from crappy Chinese shit, it’s a 10 footer just like the rest of the car. I’m not mad because it was cheap, but if your car is “nice,” don’t choose this one.
The paint was done by Kings Auto Body in Long Beach, they did a very bad job and I would avoid that shop at all
costs.
Gauge a body shop by the small jobs they do.
Why would you take on something you see as insignificant and do a shit job, what, out of spite? Or out of pure negligence or lack of quality control? The color match is okay, but there’s trapped dirt, the mask line is bad, there’s a significant run, and there’s some black paint(?) on it that shows around the top edges. Also it took them like 3 or 4 weeks to do this. This was done quite a while back, during a part of my life where I didn’t have the energy to complain in general, so I took the piece and went on my way when I should have made them redo it. They also did another small job for my other car which came out like shit as well. All the good reviews you hear about Kings are from people doing pretty big jobs there, painting a cage, a full restoration, roof install, etc… But Ayed probably does those jobs himself and pawns off the little stuff to an intern.
Long story short, do not go to Kings Auto Body.

GSP Pedals removed and Hamann's back in with a brand new under cover panel. Don't have the original footrest so the GSP one stays. Anyone know or have a mint used OE ///M footrest let me know.
New gas funnel rubber gasket/gromet installed
New OE CSL headlight switch installed. Maybe only one more of these left in Germany at BMW so I had to jump
On this and get it while I could. Looks simple and lovely.
Also installed the OE BMW exhaust bracket on my SS exhaust that one of the members here posted in their build thread (can't remember who) but thank you. Pics are his and not mine but you get the picture lol.Last edited by 0-60motorsports; 03-29-2025, 11:51 AM.

SMG shifting was a tad clunky (in manual mode) so I ran the teach clutch curve characteristics and followed with the clutch slip point procedure and all is right. I do this every year or two.
I have Auto Enginuity that makes this super simple, but you can also use the Schwaben or DIS.
In Schwaben you can access via Service->Drive->Transmission Control->After replace clutch/clutch slave. No need to run the vent (bleed) procedures listed there.
In DIS I can't remember.

Ordered another set of Fikse Profil 10s copying BBS LM specs for the E46 M3.
Set below went on my M4 CS keeping the stock diameter stagger 19/20:
They're way more expensive than my LMs due to the fact that they're made wholly in USA/Canada. I consider the LMs to be the best looking wheels of all time and ran them back in 2006, but I just can't get over my love for black wheels. My 300 mile LMs will go into storage or be sold depending on my mood when the Fikse wheels arrive.

I love Fikse wheels and more so now since none of the kids these days know what the heck they are!
