Removed gauge (thanks Raj) as vanos is in spec and now I can drive the bitch without thinking about that aspect of the vehicle. Timed the engine 2x and have overcome the fear of the procedure so in the future I won't sweat it.

Thanks for giving me a little peace of mind. I'll be curious to see if it cleans up anymore as I put more miles on the car using the "normal" 7500 mile OCI and Motul, especially since I'm trying to get more oil flow in the heads (read: "a redline a day keeps the mechanic away" haha)
"your BMW has how many miles!?"

I brought her back to LIFE! After 3 years of being stored in a dirt lot and providing a home for a rodent or two. I have missed her so.

just bought a car that had been stored away like yours

              - vacuum out as much of that rodent housing material as you can
              - check/repair your wiring as they might have started chewing it up
              - powerwash the whole engine bay because where there is rodent poo there is almost certainly even more rodent pee

Concur. Any decent detailing shop should be able to tackle this job with a steam clean of the engine bay. I would take off the bottom undertray and go to town after wrapping up all the critical electrical.

Id also take the airbox out.

                  Rodents love our engine bays.

Harbor freight sells a great little steam cleaner that would be good for that.

This jackrabbit had a feast on my car. I dropped the car off at a shop because i just dont have the time or means to tackle this project at the moment.

I drove mine until it bit me with a no-start.
l may need a clutch module which appears, with the help of BMW, to be n/a.

Took out injectors got them sonically cleaned, new o rings filters and flow matched. Based on the stats, was advised to place injector 4 3 closes to the fuel feed line, then 1 2 then 5 6. So far the idle is a bit cleaner, haven't noticed anything else, just very crisp throttle. Car has recently had a big overhaul (Reddish plates, CMP subframe bushings, CMP Rtab, guibo, fuel filter, new TPS sensors, Hotchkiss front and rear swaybars, valve adjustment) and a redo of the rod bearings due to a botched job by another shop.

Not Tbonem3 clean but close enough for me.
