Close to hitting 68k miles now, have owned since 2016 (had another M3 before this one)

I think this year it's going back stock kind of over the modding look, I haven't even broken in the new rod bearings yet.

I had 12.5mm spacers upfront to clear the spring but it looked silly so I've gone down to a 5mm (18x9.0 ET35 square wheels)

Probably going to do a CSL airbox this year and think about selling, I want to do a few long trips in the Aussie heat and honestly I don't feel confident about reliability anymore despite never really having any issues.

Nice looking car. My prediction is most will do exactly this after one day realizing how infantile the lowrider poke looks as they grow up. I saw the same thing happen with silver visions, blacked out kidneys/gills, m stripes everywhere, etc.

This will happen with 330ci orange lights as well as people come full circle right back to stock trim after realizing they're modding for the sake of modding and not for the sake of aesthetics.

Sparco SPX seats are out. Going back to Sparco's HQ to get some small things fixed on them, then off to a shop to get OE heated pads installed onto them, making them the first Sparco SPX seats with heated seats specific for an E46.

Moving to the forward portion of the Vincebar, making sure to protect everything so when I start grinding metal I don't screw up my interior!

These emergency mylar blankets seem like they would offer decent protection from errant sparks etc., I still have more (thicker) protection to lay down before proceeding further.

Rear bar in place and will be epoxied when front cups are in place as well.

I used a roll of 3.5 mil HDX black plastic tarp. Thick enough that I had zero spark burn through

As I wait for my VinceSkinz I decided to do a couple light jobs yesterday. First was change the trans fluid. Second was to replace the worn idler and tensioner pulleys. Turns out the water pump bearing is on its way out too so that’s getting replaced along with, at minimum, the thermostat. Now I’m considering replacing the mechanical fan with an electric unit.

I’m also contemplating doing a build thread for my car to help me keep track of my car’s progress and centralize some of the problems/solutions I encounter. It won’t be a very quick or exciting build though.
