Made a few more rough cuts for the Vincebar, boy taking an angle grinder to the trunk isn't for the faint of heart!
If anyone has any shots of their install, particularly photos the final cutout to allow fitment of the bar I would appreciate it.
I understand no one does it exactly the same but neither of the two DIY's I am referencing are on an E46 M3 and there are a bunch of reference points that may help me out.
So this is all I have from the VinceBar install. It’s not the cleanest. Wish I would have snapped more during the cutting process, but heat of the moment(s) didn’t pull out the camera.
If I were to do it again, I would start with thoroughly removing all the seam sealer where the end plates hit the frame rails. That way you can see exactly how the cut ought to go. I used a small round file at the front an back of the slots next to the frame rail to remove stress risers (round off the slot ends).
I took my time and made conservative cuts, slowly cutting and grinding until the bar just slots in. One thing that helped with test fitting was to round off the corners of the curved tub bracket thing.
Watch Vince’s videos a couple times through. You’ll notice all the things he talks about as they come up.
Sold my 2002 6spd coupe with 128k for $26k
no racp work, rods need to be done again (recall) in like next 30k imo
The Steel Gray?
Edit: Read your build journal, get the E60, my buddy has 2 of them and that is one of the best sounding BMW's I've heard even with stock exhaust.
Not a lot of aftermarket support, but they sold so few in comparison to our M3's.
Soo, this isn't car content per sey, but it will sure help w/maintenance & modding! I just recently ordered and started installing my Bendpak MaxJax!
Nice! I finally decided to buy one of those late last year after I returned a Quickjack. Went to order it and saw that they raised the price $1000 ☹ . I guess I'll be going back to a Quickjack.

Yeah, that was complete fukery! Luckily, I'm a member of another forum that was offering a discounted price on them, and I also got my sales guy to toss in free residential shipping/door step delivery service. But yeah, it's still pricey AF compared to other regular lifts...I just didn't have the room for a conventional lift. I even contemplated a scissor lift, but the good ones are just as expensive (if not more so), and they can hinder undercarriage access.
Changed the trunk trim to have more space for items when the cars loaded up for the track. Glad I did that because when I went to see why the passenger side trim wouldn't sit down properly I found out the battery cable had exposed metal. Also mounted up a tire for test fitting the new rims
The new Apex VS-5RS. I have high hopes for them after comparing them to my BC Forged custom set that cost almost twice as much as the Apex did. I also like the look of the Apex a bit more than my KL01. They also have a video about the rims with a ton of info

Has your car been in an accident? Looks like someone replaced the BST but didn't insulate everything properly.
Yes, carfax showed a rear accident. So the idiot that replaced that cable tried to burn the car to the ground it appears. There are people in every profession that are terrible at their job
