I don't know if I'd call the E46 M3 appreciation just a side note. It's a reality that forces anyone (paying attention) to get an agreed to value policy if they qualify. And in a decade or so a high performance, RWD, manual, NA engine car in good shape will be such a curiosity that M cars may become retirement assets.
