I don't know if I'd call the E46 M3 appreciation just a side note. It's a reality that forces anyone (paying attention) to get an agreed to value policy if they qualify. And in a decade or so a high performance, RWD, manual, NA engine car in good shape will be such a curiosity that M cars may become retirement assets.

I’ve been discussing the increase in RNM lately with someone here. If not here it was on another board. The cooler entered the room around April and winter is coming soon. I think BaT has a queue of cars where the reserve is already set, which needs to wash through. I cannot confirm that though. These are 3-6 month ago reserves, not today reserves.

$30k for a 15 year old car with 70k on the odo, a “love it or hate it” body, paint, stories and a lot more depreciation ahead of it is a lot if you ask me, which of course no one did.

Anything with over 40-50k miles, previous damage, or any sort of history inconsistency - and it won't do well on BaT, simple as that. Just because some mint example with spotless history and low miles sold for a lot of money, doesn't mean that your car worth the same. People bidding on these are not idiots. Well, for the most part.

Put an asterisk at the end of this because it clearly doesn't matter if an LSB car has 120k+ miles, severe damage, 8 owners, zero history, and is manual swapped. I REALLY want to see what an ultra low mileage (i.e. X,XXX miles) ZCP goes for these days.

There are exceptions, sure. But its not a black on black 70K mile E60M with previous accident damage.

Guys, I’m torn. The silver car is going nowhere. I have an 800 mile car that I still haven’t picked up bc of space issues. And honestly, while I thought the blue car might be a keeper car, I feel like I should sell it and make the yellow car my keeper car. I don’t have space for all three cars, unless I were to let my dad take the blue car. If that doesn’t work out, we’ll see how much a manual swapped IB/black car with 75k miles sells for on BAT.

I'd sell the yellow car. I would never end up driving that car because it's brand new and "worth too much" or whatever. As much as I like to think that I actually would drive it because cars are for driving and all that, at the end of the day, I think the thought of some idiot on the road crashing into me would stop me from doing so.

Sell it to someone who has too much money to care. Then use part of that money on your other cars.

Also, what kind of trim is on that yellow car? Might just be the picture, but the shifter surround almost looks like some sort of wood trim.

It’s a wood trim. Idk why he specced it out like that, but I’m not gonna mess with it. At most, I’ll do a manual swap, ZCP wheels, and R&T coilovers. Assuming I keep it.
