Finally got around to posting the results. It was a lot of custom work but it was to be expected for a $800 trunk (plus paint, wiring, etc.) Pretty content overall!Originally posted by ejendow View Post
I remember when this trunk was posted on FBM. Keep us posted on how it turns out!
I still wonder about the brand, it was based on a A9? 09/2003 mold for what it's worth.

Took the extra time over the holidays to knock out a bunch of small items I had laying around.
- Switched out the Redline MTL @ 18k miles for Ravenol 75W-80 MTF-2. Don't remember what Pentosin was like as I haven't had it in the box since before prices skyrocketed, but compared to MTL it's much less crunchy when cold and feels pretty consistent all the way up to operating temperature. Don't expect I'll be changing this stuff for a good while, but time will tell.
- Replaced the clutch stop that had disappeared at some point with the anchor bolt solution
- Refreshed clutch and brake pedal bushings with AKG, no more lateral slop in either pedal
- Bled brakes and clutch
- Swapped in the BMW weighted performance knob
Combined with recently refreshed shifter linkage parts and the E60 short lever, I'm quite happy with the overall shifting experience now. Diff bushings / rebuild will be the final item in this category sometime in spring, then I should be all done with drivetrain.'04 LSB Coupe 6MT

Wow that's quite a feat, have you had to open the engine? with that many miles? my M3 currently sits at 170k, put on about 25k miles during my 3 years of ownership, plan to put more.Originally posted by zzyzx85 View PostPost-track day oil change for the M3.

Nothing beyond the normal maintenance items like rod bearings and valve adjustment. There is a good amount of varnish and some carbon build up in the head from previous owner doing long OCIs. I really need to do a compression test to see where it's at with so many miles when I do the rod bearings at 300k.Originally posted by elrichmeister View Post
