As you can see, the car said it was 98F outside, the oil temp was good and centered on 210F, the engine temp was up a bit past midway with the A/C running. I had just come to a stop at a stoplight when I grabbed the phone and took this shot. Does that engine temp seem "normal" for a hot day like today? The engine coolant temp gauge did come back down towards the center point after I was moving again. So, I'm thinking that things are better now, when compared to the old fan clutch. Before I installed the new one, the temp gauge went past the right/last white dot, closer to the red zone and it the ambient air temp wasn't as hot as it was today. Your thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

flushed my brake fluid and put on my track wheels.

I think I need to drink more water (or the fluid was due for a change 🤣)

Had to swing by Harbor Freight and thought I'd grab a few photos.

I think I'm going to refinish my Volk G.2 in gunmetal whenever I refinish them.

Track day at Streets of Willow. 1:29.xx isn't flying but it was a nice day at the track. More traffic than I anticipated but I'm still learning the car. I'm not brave enough to drive it without the DSC on "track mode".

Draped it for surgery. Hoping to pull the roof out tomorrow and put Karb roof in this weekend.

New motor is ready to go compliments of ET Tuning (https://ettuning.com/) who did a fantastic assembly and set up job. Special thanks to Peter Partee of Partee Racing (https://parteeracing.com/) who was a sounding board and insight provider. Peter also set me up with the Dailey Engineering dry sump system. Brad Noland of Noland Cylinder Head Service (https://www.facebook.com/nolandscylhead/) and I plotted the path for the head including custom valves from Supertech. Here's hoping it runs like a scalded dog.

Removed trans and bell housing for SMG conversion to 6MT. SMG was in good shape but the other bits within the bell housing where shot. throw out bearing, pivot pin, and fork were all heavily worn.

                          Wow that looks amazing.

                          Belt driven dry sump?

Still planning to use the belt driven power steering and alternator?

Yes, the Dailey Engineering dry sump is belt driven. Jury is still out on if I retain the belt driven power steering pump. Will decide after new engine is installed. Under hood space is at a premium.

I felt that the information available online for DIY was a bit lacking, so I plan to make a separate thread with advice and photos.

Have had some people reach out to me about the tools, so I’ll probably rent them out. We can chat about that if you’re interested.
