Awesome!
AlSi10Mg? Will be interesting to see how you fare with tapping the threads. I recommend using copious amounts of lubricant.
Also probably worth throwing those on a drill press to get rid of the bits of support material that the fab house missed.2002 Topasblau M3 - Coupe - 6MT - Karbonius CSL Airbox - SSV1 - HJS - Mullet Tune - MK60 Swap - E86 Front Triangulation - ZCP Rack - Nogaros - AutoSolutions - 996 Brembos - Slon - CMP - VinceBar - Koni - Eibach - BlueBus - Journal

Yep AlSi10Mg. Yeah I'm going to interested to see how it goes as well. For what it's worth the threads that you added in have printed quite well, so I'm hopeful it might work out.Originally posted by heinzboehmer View PostAwesome!

Yep there is a small amount of post processing that I'll need to do, looks pretty good everywhere else, and those bits of support material are pretty thin, so hopefully should clean up nicely :-)2005 ///M3 SMG Coupe Silbergrau Metallic/CSL bucket seats/CSL airbox/CSL console/6 point RACP brace/Apex ARC-8s

Received a couple of unexpected photos from ApexBatch today of my parts at the initial processing stage!

And they're in my hands 17 days after ordering. Packaging was top-notch - could have thrown the box off my 3 story roof and the parts would have been unaffected.
They'll stay nicely bagged with their machine oil until I'm ready to test fit and then send for coating.
I know I keep saying this but heinzboehmer has done an incredible job with this project. Holding the windshield mount you can really appreciate how much work has gone into it's design.

Nice!
Just watch the temps that the parts will get to during coating. Most of the powder coating places around me told me they cured their stuff at close to 200 C, which is why I ultimately went for low temp cerakote instead.Originally posted by karter16 View PostThey'll stay nicely bagged with their machine oil until I'm ready to test fit and then send for coating.
You could also anodize the CNCd parts if all you want to do is make them less obvious once installed. Won't be as close of a match to the factory strut bar finish, but you won't have to worry about heat and it's actually not all that hard to DIY at home.

Yeah thanks for that and agreed - Purpose for coating the CNC'd parts is mostly for protection, I live coastal so will do what I can to keep anything aluminium protected as well as I can. I'm thinking maybe anodising (mostly cause I haven't done it before and it would be cool to have a go at it) for the CNC'd parts, cerakote like you did for the brackets and either cerakote or powder-coated for the strut bar and E86 braces to match the RACP brace in the back.2005 ///M3 SMG Coupe Silbergrau Metallic/CSL bucket seats/CSL airbox/CSL console/6 point RACP brace/Apex ARC-8s

That is a great point!Originally posted by Bry5on View PostI vote anodize first, you can always coat on top of it too.
