For HVAC blower motors and FSRs, which brands are people using? I thought we had a thread somewhere with OE/OEM/Genuine parts listed out and what to avoid; maybe that was old M3F??

I ordered an OE blower online from a dealer (might have been getbmwparts.com?). I have a Hella/Mahle "OEM" FSR on-hand just in case the generic made in China one I installed in an emergency decides to die.

Seems the German made REIN FSRs are GTG. Genuine for the blower seems the best due to erratic fitment issues w/other brands.

I'm removing my Hard Motorsports radio delete panel and doing the OEM one with HVAC relocated underneath and I can't remember what all's needed besides the frame, delete panel. Any extra screws so forth? Click image for larger version

So I read some conflicting threads that confuses me. Does the rear strut reinforcement plate go above or under the body where it mounts?

They go above, inside the trunk. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...002478ecs01kt/

Ended up with ACM brand, apparently made in Germany and OE per FCP; hoping this one is GTG. I'll go Genuine for the blower.

I've used Redline "Complete Fuel System Cleaner - Powersports" (link) in the m3. Could be placebo effect, but seemed to run smoother.

And I've used a few ounces of Marvel Mystery oil in my 330 when the fuel pump making strange noises. It was pretty loud (it only had 30k miles on it). Surprisingly, after 1 tank with MMO, the fuel pump sounds normal again and haven't returned after 1000 miles or so. Coincidence? Possibly.

                        YMMV.

What is the smaller pipe that sticks out of the gas filler neck? Like, what is its purpose? Evap or something like that? I cracked the red plastic attachment while disconnecting the filler neck and I'm thinking JB-Weld unless this could cause safety hazards... so that's why I'm asking. What would happen if this leaked? Fire hazard or gas smell?

It should be a sealed system. Any leak in the system will cause a strong fuel odor at a minimum.
