I'm probably just gonna cut the wires and solder them together, just a small "U"-shaped harness coming out of the box

Maybe it could be coded out and then I could just remove the sensor entirely. Buuut maybe a defeat plug is a good idea just so that the box stays sealed and no water can get in.2002 Topasblau M3 - Coupe - 6MT - Karbonius CSL Airbox - MSS54HP Conversion - Kassel MAP - SSV1 - HJS - PCS Tune - Beisan - MK60 Swap - ZCP Rack - Nogaros - AutoSolutions - 996 Brembos - Slon - CMP - VinceBar - Koni - Eibach - BlueBus - Journal

Different shift knob installed (without incident), the knob installed by previous owner was quite heavy, I'll bet it was all of 16-20oz, the new is 6.4oz.
The feel of shifting gears has improved with new knob as there is significantly more feedback, plus the factory like look is a good thing.

Thanks. I was wondering what it might be (clearly) as I haven't seen a switch in the spot before. Curiosity and all that.Build thread: Topaz Blue to Shark Blue

Picked our 04 up the other week. Long wait for even a temp plate (did a private party purchase) here in Virginia at the moment. Dropped it off at the shop to get the alternator swapped out. Prior owner had a car quest one in that was giving the red battery light at high revs. Luckily he had a new valeo unit ready, just not installed. Also found fuel line and sending unit issue.
Oh, and already got our dimming mirror back from the radar-mirror team and it looks great.
So once all that and cursory oil change and other filter changes are done, we should be ready to rock and roll. Just need those plates....
